Lost the joy? Lots of people have. Ross Douthat, a news-paper columnist, wrote this week about the “gloom” hanging over our society and, perhaps, our world. He calls it “a pessimism bubble.” Bubble or not, the pages of the newspaper, the headlines of the television news, and stories on the internet all seem relentlessly gloomy. Where do we find the joy? It’s to that question that our message speaks this morning: Qualified for Joy. Are you qualified for joy?
