Notes:

We often hear reference to blind faith. There are even certain sectors of Christianity that believe that the more outlandish and more unsustainable the belief, the greater the faith. The author of Hebrews does not conceive of faith in that way at all. On the contrary, the author understands faith as action based on evidence not readily available to the eye. Our faith is in that which is not visible, but it is not blind. On the contrary, the believer sees with both the heart and the mind the realities which are available to us through Jesus Christ and then lives according to them.
